Megino-Kangalassky District
Megino-Kangalassky District ((ロシア語:Ме́гино-Кангала́сский улу́с); ) is an administrative〔Constitution of the Sakha Republic〕 and municipal〔Law #172-Z #351-III〕 district (raion, or ''ulus''), one of the thirty-four in the Sakha Republic, Russia. It is located in the central part of the republic, on the Lena River opposite Yakutsk, the capital of the republic. It borders with Ust-Aldansky District in the north, Churapchinsky District in the east, Amginsky District in the southeast, Khangalassky District in the southwest, and is bounded by the Lena River in the west. The area of the district is .〔Registry of the Administrative-Territorial Divisions of the Sakha Republic〕 Its administrative center is the rural locality (a ''selo'') of Mayya.〔 Population: 32,288 (2002 Census); The population of Mayya accounts for 23.3% of the district's total population.〔
==History==
The district was created in 1930 through the merger of Meginsky and Vostochno-Kangalassky Districts.
